We are on a collision course with the end of the second decade of the aughts! As the New Year comes rushing at us, let’s take a peek at what the future (or at least 2020) may hold for those of us in the real estate world.

CRM’s, AI, E-signatures:
Virtual staging, renovations and home tours via AI (Artificial Intelligence), automated lead capture, vetting and responses via CRM’s (Contact Relationship Management), and improvement to and increased adoption of e-sign technology are all big topics for 2020. Click on link for more info.

IBuyers:

Agents have nothing to fear from IBuyers as they will only serve a small segment of the housing market, and there will always be a demand for live, agent-driven transactions, according to Laura Brady of Concierge Auctions. However, partnering with IBuyer platforms could be an important way to grow business. Read the link to learn more.

Heard of the “Silver Tsunami” or “Hipsturbia” yet? You will! Over the next twenty years there will be a glut of houses in certain markets (look out FLA and AZ) as boomers pass on or downsize. A more immediate trend is the increase in millennials abandoning cities to buy homes in the suburbs=Hipsturbia. The two trends together could finally help alleviate the inventory issues in some areas, but not in 2020, as low rates, high demand, and low supply are predicted to continue.
